Modern Player Telecaster Body
This post is going to touch base with the Fender Modern player Telecaster body guitarpickzone.com/telecaster-body/ as per their specifications.
This guitar at first glance looks exactly like a regular fender telecaster however, on closer inspection we can see that the guitar is slightly different to the telecaster we know so well.
The Regular Telecaster is a great guitar and despite how old it is (first guitar to be electrified) still is so popular today among so many guitarists.
As many guitar players do, modifying their guitars to meet their requirements is completely normal. So Fender took that into account and did some modifying of their own. Which brings the old telecaster into the modern day.
We will discuss the differences between these two telecaster guitars
The Modern Player Telecaster Body is Slightly Different
The Telecaster body looks the same but it has a belly contour on the back to better fit the body of the player.
The Pickups are Very Different on the Modern Player
The normal telecaster has two pickups which include a pickup in the neck and one in the bottom bridge position. However, the Modern Player Telecaster has three pickups. The telecaster body has the following pickup configuration:
- Regular Telecaster single coil in the neck position
- Stratocaster pickup in the middle position
- Humbucker in the bridge position. The humbucker is able to split the coil which means it can be used as a humbucker or as a single coil to get the signature telecaster sound
The Pick up selector is different
The guitar has three pickups as we discussed above, this means that the telecaster has a 5 way pickup selector switch instead of the regular three way switch.
The Modern Player is Very Versatile
By combining an array of pickup options, the Fender Telecaster Modern player is exceptionally versatile and can match many different genres and styles of music.
